In the nineteenth century, European spiritualism became popular. After that, the U.S. brought over Protestant missions a more Catholic living. 30% of the population is Protestant, many others still continue to be Catholic. Most religious life in Puerto Rico is enacted in terms of populist style, and in the case of established religions.
